All Visitors please may we politely request if you are feeling unwell, are displaying symptoms or have been told to isolate either as a precaution or as a result of a positive test please do not visit Bignor Roman Villa, Maze or Campsite.

We are currently seeing higher numbers of cases particularly in school age children and safety of our staff and visitors is our most important consideration.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you for your cooperation.

We are delighted to be opening our doors and welcoming you back to Bignor Roman Villa.

A few things have changed since we were last open as you will expect so please read on for details.

Our aim is to provide you with a quality visitor experience and respond to existing and any new Government guidance. We politely ask all of our visitors to ensure that social distancing restrictions are maintained at all times.

Please park all vehicles sensibly and with adequate spacing between you and your neighbour.

We won’t be operating timed tickets. We believe that based on previous visitor numbers to our site that this won’t be necessary. We have ample outside space. We do however ask you for your patience whilst we acclimatise to our new protocols and procedures put in place. After all we are only trying to protect visitors and staff alike. At busy periods you might be asked to wait whilst the visitors before you vacate the first room on the tour.

Please queue as directed for entry to the Villa.  A member of staff will call you in when they are ready for you.

We ask all visitors whether to the villa or the tearoom to use the hand sanitiser provided on the wall mounted dispensers upon entry and exiting the villa and when ordering at the tearooms outdoor serving hatch.

We will be operating a one way system once inside the villa museum - please adhere to this route and follow all signage provided.

*Visitors with limited mobility should speak to a member of staff on arrival regarding the best route for them.

We have decided to limit access to the Medusa building to one visitor or family unit at a time.

Please do not visit the Villa if you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms.

If you have any questions a member of staff will be happy to assist you.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

The Tupper Family

We have made some changes to our procedures in order to keep our customers and staff safe during these times:

We will be serving a reduced menu to include a selection of cakes and sweet treats plus hot and cold drinks.

We will be operating a takeaway service only at this time. You are welcome to use the picnic area (adhering to social distancing measures at all times please). Please note that there will be no indoor seating available inside the tearoom.

We would ask you to queue at the outside serving hatch as directed and please bear with us at busy times. The outside picnic tables are available for everyone but please be aware of others waiting to enjoy their refreshments once you have finished.  Please ensure that any rubbish is placed in the bins provided in the picnic area. We are operating a skeletal staff team and therefore will not be able to clear tables.

Please follow all signage around the Tearooms and use hand sanitiser available at the serving hatch.

Please do not visit the Tearooms if you have symptoms or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms
