The Villa is now open for the 2014 season, 7 days a week, 10am to 5pm (last admission is at 4pm) until 31st October. The Villa first opened to the public in 1814 so if you visit us this season you will be helping us to mark our 200th anniversary of welcoming visitors to see the wonderful Roman remains here at Bignor.

Unit 30th April 2014, vvistors that travel to Bignor Roman Villa by public transport can enjoy 2 for1 on admission to the Villa. The offer is part of the South Downs National Park spring campaign 'Discover more of the South Downs for less'. A dated bus or train ticket is required upon entry to receive the 2 for 1 discount. Bignor Roman Villa is the stunning remains of a Roman home with world-class mosaic floors in a spectacular Downland setting.
Learn why the Roman owners chose to develop such a magnificent settlement at Bignor in the 3rd Century AD and how they acquired wealth from its location.
Outside the Roman Villa, walk through the beautiful Nyetimber vineyard and explore the endless footpaths and stunning villages in the heart of the newly designated South Downs National Park.

If you have an interest in history and the Romans, or have a love of the South Downs and have some spare time, the team at Bignor would love to hear from you. Opportunities for volunteers are varied; train to become a visitor guide, customer service in the shop and tearoom, assistance with educational visits and help at special events. 'Friends of Bignor Roman Villa' is a seasonal subcription for frequent visitors. For only twice the normal entrance fee your 'Friends' cards allows entry throught the forthcoming season (open 7 days a week from 1st March to 31st October 2014). Your card also allows you free entry to all our special events. Visitors with Dogs
Dogs are not permitted in the museum or tea room. However, they are welcome in the carpark and picnic area. Fresh water and shade is available in the picnic area. Please note there is no shade in the carpark. If you require clarification please call prior to your visit. We ask that you clean up after your dogs.
